Ten Years in the Making

2012

• Launched the Gordon Presidential Fellows program.
• Restructured College debt to save over $500,000 per year.

2013

• Named safest private college in the U.S.
• Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership founded, the first such center at a Christian College focused on finding creative, entrepreneurial solutions for real-world issues.
• First cohort of students took part in global internships in Beijing, London, New Zealand, Rio de Janeiro, and other locations around the country and the globe. 

2014

• Created four First-year Fellows programs to give exceptional opportunities to first-year students. Program expanded again in 2020 with two more programs.
• Launched the Council of 125, which shaped the 20/20 Project—our current strategic plan.

2015

• Launched Master of Arts in Leadership program.
• Tuition increase fell below our peer averages for the first time in a decade. We have slowly decreased this from a high of 4.9% in 2012.
• Named to Princeton Review’s top colleges list, and have stayed there ever since.
• Developed the Shalom Statement, a blueprint for the affirmation of human dignity and the flourishing of community.

2016

• Shields House in Beverly Farms donated to the College.

2017

• Launched the Global Honors Institute as the institutional umbrella for Gordon’s unique honors offerings.
• Launched Gordon Plus, giving current Gordon the opportunity to start Master’s programs early, get free graduate classes, and graduate faster.
• Introduced a 12-month payment plan to ease the burden on families.
• Launched the quiet phase of the Faith Rising comprehensive campaign.

2018

• Launched the Master of Science in Financial Analysis program.
• Reinvigorated the Gordon College Foundation for managing real estate and business development.
• Launched the Career and Connection Institute, bringing together career services, academic advising, student success, alumni connections and has helped increase internship placement 78% over the last 10 years.

2019

• Launched the Work Ahead initiative to prepare students for the workplace of 2030.
• Launched nursing program partnership with Curry College.
• Celebrated 130^th anniversary with the public launch of Faith Rising comprehensive campaign and the announcement of the $75.5 million gift, largest ever to a Christian liberal arts college.
• Launched the School of Education.
• Launched Gordon Global online learning initiative with a $10 million endowment gift.
• Launched the Bay Area Initiative, to increase Gordon’s footprint domestically.

2020

• COVID-19 pandemic forced all classes to new Digital Live format, providing students with both in-person and online access to most classes.
• Student retention is the highest in several years, currently at 84%.
• Launched the School of Graduate, Professional, and Extended Studies to offer innovative learning opportunitites to a broad range of students.  
• In partnership with Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, created a grant-funded, joint program that allows students to earn a B.A. and M.Div. in 5 years, saving 2 years from traditional programs .
• First-year student enrollment rose by 5% over last year at a time when many peers schools saw declines.
• June 30 financial results marked the strongest fiscal year for Gordon, even in the midst of COVID-19.
