Campus Sanitization Practices

We can all help minimize the spread of COVID-19. Physical Plant is committed to the safety and wellbeing of the campus community. Our custodial staff takes a serious and thorough approach to clean and sanitize our facilities daily. We are well trained to use proper PPE and follow best sanitization practices including using EPA-registered disinfectants effective against virus that causes COVID-19.

What we are doing in the residence halls:

  • All common areas (entrances, lounges, chairs and couches, elevators, staircases, hallways, laundry rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, trash/recycling rooms) are cleaned daily using Clean by Peroxy, a degreaser similar to a soap and water solution.
  • Our staff members are diligently wiping down and sanitizing all surfaces and points of contacts (doors, light switches, handles, railings, tables, counters, toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.) with EPA-approved products for use against the virus that causes COVID-19 (BruTabs S6 – EPA reg. No: 71847-6, BNC-15 – EPA reg. No: 6836-348, and other bleach-based products).
