Common Sense Health Precautions

As a reminder to all students and members of the campus community, the following are good habits and optimal ways to prevent a viral illness from spreading:

  • Stay home if you are ill (fever and cough); you should not have a fever for at least 24 hours before returning to class or work.
  • Wash your hands frequently; scrub for at least 20 seconds with soap and hot water.
  • Obtain a flu vaccine, since the flu season is still ongoing.
  • Cough into a tissue or your arm/elbow, not your hand.

It is also strongly recommended to maintain your immune system by:

  • Reducing/eliminating your use of refined sugars.
  • Taking supplemental vitamin D3 and vitamin C.
  • Getting sufficient (eight hours) of sleep per night.
  • Engaging in moderate exercise activity on a regular basis.
