Compass Program Details

The 2019 Compass Program is from June 26–July 25. The program breakdown is as follows:

  • June 26: Arrival & Registration
  • June 27–July 6: Wilderness Expedition
  • July 7–July 13: Theology Expedition
  • July 14–July 22: Ministry Expedition
  • July 23–July 25: Closing Days

Students have the option to fundraise for their trip using a personalized web page we set up through the Compass website.

Fundraising goals differ by location. The travel expenses are higher for a trip to Iceland than for a trip to Portland, Maine, so by extension, the fundraising amounts for each trip are different.

Also, each fundraising goal corresponds with the date you submitted your Compass application (early bird versus regular application). See the breakdown below for more specifics.

 Portland, Maine trip:

  • For early bird applications (submitted by January 31) the fundraising goal is $2,400
  • For regular applications (submitted by February 28) the fundraising goal is $2,600

Reykjavik, Iceland trip:

  • For early bird applications (submitted by January 31) the fundraising goal is $3,600
  • For early bird applications (submitted by January 31) the fundraising goal is $3,800

Note that the funds you raise for your Compass trip are tax-deductible and thus non-refundable.

We do our best to make Compass as affordable as possible. These fundraising goals are significantly lower than what is needed to cover the cost of the entire program. At this time, we are unable to offer any further discounts or financial assistance.
