Apply to Compass

Thank you for your interest in Compass. Compass is a great program, and we are excited that you are applying. Please read ALL the instructions carefully and fill out the application completely. For more information, feel free to contact us anytime at .

The Compass Application includes five components, ALL of which must be completed by the application deadline in order for a student to be considered for the program. It is the student's responsibility to make sure all forms are turned in on time.

The application deadline for this year's program is March 15, 2020.

The Nominator Form is completed by the person nominating the applicant for the program. Each applicant must have a nominator. A nominator should be a pastor or other church leader who knows the student well enough to speak to his or her suitability for the program.

The Mentor Form is completed by someone who has committed to mentoring the student for three years following the program. Each applicant must have a mentor. A mentor should be a pastor or another church leader who desires to mentor the student in the program.

The Student Application Form is completed by the applicant. This section is an important part of your application. This is our primary resource for getting to know who you are. Take time to think and pray about these questions.

Answer each question thoroughly in clear, concise, and complete sentences that exhibit genuine consideration and self-reflection. There is no minimum page requirement, but the average application usually consists of 3-4 pages, single-spaced.

Applicants must also submit a profile photo, which should be attached to an email as a .jpg or .png.

The Parent Agreement Form is completed by the applicant's parents or legal guardians. If the student resides with parents in separate households, the form is to be completed by the parent/guardian with legal custody. In cases of split custody, both parents must complete the form.

The Church Reference Form is completed by a pastor, church leader or another adult (someone other than the nominator or mentor) from the student’s church who knows the student well enough to speak to his or her suitability for the program.

The Peer Reference Form is completed by one of the applicant's peers who knows the student well enough to speak to his or her suitability for the program.

We highly recommend that you read the answers to these frequently asked questions before you begin the application.
