Recovering Our Creative Calling: Author Andy Crouch to Speak at Gordon

WENHAM, MA—From defining culture to expressing creativity, author and journalist Andy Crouch has long explored the impact of both on our corporate lives. His critically acclaimed book Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling confronts the questions of how gifts and faith can contribute to a new approach for living in the 21st century.

Crouch, who is also the senior editor of the magazine Christianity Today International, will discuss what it means to be a creator of culture during his visit this month to Gordon College. His first of two lectures—which are part of the Faith Seeking Understanding lecture series—will be held Thursday, March 25, in the Ken Olsen Science Center, MacDonald Auditorium (exit 17 from Route 128) at 4:30 p.m. with a reception at 4 p.m. On Friday, March 26th Crouch will address the community in the A. J. Gordon Memorial Chapel at 10:25 a.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

“Andy is an attentive observer of American culture and thinks carefully about the health of the church in the current environment,” said Dr. Greg Carmer, dean of chapel. “He brings theological astuteness and cultural insight to the role of the church in the 21st century.”

After each lecture, Crouch will also lead a question and answer period. His talks are hosted in conjunction with the Gordon College Chapel Office and the Center for Christian Studies.
