WENHAM, MA-On October 18 at 8 p.m., a year after her debut solo album reached number one on the Billboard Traditional Classical Chart, pianist Simone Dinnerstein will offer an intimate recital for ticket holders when she performs at Gordon College.

Dinnerstein's performance is part of the Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series. The series brings pianists of international caliber to chamber music venues throughout the United States and is sponsored by the Adams Family Foundation of Santa Barbara, California. "The Adams Series is seeking to return the piano recital to its roots as an intimate musical evening," says Thomas Brooks, chair of the Gordon College Music Department, "and Gordon College is honored to be a local partner in this national endeavor."

A graduate of the Julliard School, Dinnerstein received the William Petschek Piano Scholarship, the Vladimir Horowitz Scholarship and the Chopin Award during her studies. The young pianist is critically acclaimed by the New York Times as "An utterly distinctive voice in the forest of Bach interpretation," and described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as "In a league with any of the great Beethoven pianists of our time." In addition to Bach and Beethoven, her program on October 18 at Gordon College will include music by Copland, Webern and Lasser.

"I'm looking forward to the program she has selected to perform," says Keith Gruen, undergraduate music coordinator at Gordon. "It's a wide-ranging program spanning several hundred years of important piano works."

Tickets for these events can be ordered online or by phone at 978.867.3400. For more information on future performances, contact the Department of Music at 978.867.3400 or via email at .
