WENHAM, MA-La Vida Adventure Camp received "First Place" in the 2007 Reader's Choice Awards. In addition to bringing home "Gold," the Gordon College program received the title "North of Boston's Favorite Summer Camp."
The Reader's Choice Awards are held annually and announce the region's top-rankings in over 70 categories-from best entertainment venues and restaurants, to hospitals and car dealerships. Residents nominate their favorite places, businesses and services, providing the local community a voice to publicly thank the businesses and services that bring outstanding service and value to the region. Thousands of votes were tallied since the competition opened in January. Community Newspaper Company (CNC), a subsidiary of Herald Media, sponsors the awards. The Winners were announced throughout CNC's newspaper publications.
The popular kid-focused adventure camp received the Gold Award this year-the most prestigious honor awarded in the North of Boston Regional Favorites Category. This is the third consecutive year Gordon's LaVida Adventure Camp has received recognition from residents of the Commonwealth for their camp program. The LaVida Adventure camp took "Gold" in the 2006 Readers Choice Awards as well.
