Wenham, MA—Known for his television and radio commentaries on the economy, technology, government policies and innovation, Dr. Robert Gough, former CEO and corporate consultant, has long been a considered a “go-to guy” when it comes to economic issues. In addition to teaching principles of macroeconomics this fall at Gordon as an adjunct professor, Gough has agreed to offer three related lectures this fall that are free and open to the public.

On Thursday, September 29, he will discuss “The U.S. Economy at the Crossroads: Prospects Ahead.” On Thursday, October 27, Gough will explore the topic “Contemporary Innovation and Its Increasing Importance to Prospects for Growth.” And on Thursday, December 1, the series will conclude with his lecture on “Ideological Foundations of American Capitalism and the Crisis in Current U.S. Policies.” All lectures will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ken Olsen Science Center at Gordon College (Exit 17 from Route 128) and are free and open to the public.

“The economy is on everyone’s mind these days,” said Kent Seibert, professor and chair of the Economics and Business Department. “It’s about to turn the corner, but what’s around that corner? If anyone can help us make sense of these issues and challenges, it’s Bob Gough, one of the leading economic thinkers of our day. We’re privileged to be able to offer these lectures by him to our campus and our neighbors on the North Shore.”

With a Ph.D. from Duke University, Gough has vast experience in management, investment banking and consulting, and has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 company leaders both domestically and internationally as well as governmental policy makers. He served as the senior vice president at Data Resources Inc. (DRI) and is a frequent speaker at conferences and colleges such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford and various business schools. In addition to his scholarship, he has frequently appeared on programs such as The Today Show, Good Morning America and the Lehrer News Hour.
