WENHAM, MA—After working in theatre, film, television and radio for over 10 years, Nigel Goodwin, executive director of Genesis Arts Trust, devotes his time to supporting many Christians in the arts, including celebrities and aspiring artists around the world. As a trained actor who worked in film, television and theatre before combining his experience with theological training, Goodwin's background enables him to understand and encourage those in the arts and media.

On Thursday, September 22, at 4:30 p.m. (4 p.m. reception), Goodwin will speak on “Art, Faith and Culture” in a public lecture at the Ken Olsen Science Center, MacDonald Auditorium. The following morning, Friday, September 23, he will speak at 10:25 a.m. in the A. J. Gordon Memorial Chapel (255 Grapevine Road, Exit 17 from Route 128). Both events are open to the public free of charge.

“Nigel is a man who has spent his life stirring up Christian artists to think deeply and to work at a level of excellence that is worthy of our Creator. He has encouraged hundreds, maybe even thousands of Christians in the arts to engage culture seriously with their art—at conferences and large gatherings as well as in green rooms, studios and offices,” said Jeff Miller, professor of theatre arts at Gordon College. “If it’s true that we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, Christian artists today certainly stand on shoulders of the likes of Nigel Goodwin who have invested their lives in bringing their faith to their art.”

Goodwin is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and former student of Francis Schaeffer as well as Hans Rookmaker at L’Abri. He is also the founder of the London Arts Centre Group, a trustee of the C. S. Lewis Foundation, and executive director of Genesis Arts Trust, a ministry committed to serving the needs of Christian artists throughout the world.
