Saturday, July 30, 2011, New Hampton, New Hampshire
As the closing event of the 175th anniversary celebration of A. J. Gordon’s birth, descendants of Dr. Gordon and interested members of the Gordon College and Gordon-Conwell communities are invited, as guests of Gordon College, to spend the day in and around the Gordon Homestead in New Hampton, New Hampshire. The program will begin with a service at the Dana Hill Meeting House featuring a biographical sketch of Dr. Gordon, his hymns and a reading by his great-grandson of Gordon’s 25th anniversary sermon at Boston’s Clarendon St. Baptist Church. Following a complimentary luncheon at the New Hampton School there will be a presentation about Maria Hale Gordon, an “interview” with Dr. Gordon and open house at the A. J. Gordon homestead.
Bus transportation to and from Gordon College in Wenham will be provided, or guests may drive themselves. The bus will depart Gordon’s campus at 7 a.m. and return by 7:30 p.m. For those driving themselves, parking is available at 34 Dr. Childs Road, New Hampton, NH (behind the school library).
