A Day-Long Retreat for Women
Chairman's Room, Ken Olsen Science Center
Gordon College, 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham, MA 01984
Thursday, December 7, 2017 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Gordon College welcomes women across New England to a day-long retreat with Elaine Phillips. What a remarkable scene—the heavenly hosts bursting through deep shadows and ushering the Lord of Glory into our broken world! We join the chorus, singing “Glory to God in the highest,” and imploring the Prince of Peace to transform our hearts anew in this season of hope and joy. Join us as we prepare for the manger in the midst of Advent.
Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the retreat will begin at 9 a.m. The retreat is offered free of charge and a complimentary lunch will be included. The day will conclude at 2 p.m. Parking is available in the A. J. Gordon Memorial Chapel parking lot. Childcare is not available.
Gordon College professor, Biblical Studies department chair, traveler and scholar of Israel, and author of With God, Nothing is Impossible and a commentary on the book of Esther featured in The Expositor's Bible Commentary, Elaine Phillips invites women to Gordon College to join in her reflection of the narratives of biblical women. Elaine earned her Ph.D. in rabbinic literature, taught in Israel for three years with her husband Perry, and has taught biblical studies at Gordon College since 1993.
