SCIENCE AND FAITH IN THE 21st CENTURY

At Gordon College the study of the sciences is based upon the assumption that Christian faith and the pursuit of scientific knowledge are complementary, not contradictory.

The Natural Sciences Division at Gordon has 20 full-time faculty, representing over one-fifth of the entire faculty. The program offers research and collaborative partnerships with over 50 partner organizations in industry and higher education.

The Ken Olsen Science Center—a new 80,000-square-foot building—offers sophisticated scientific equipment such as a scanning electronic microscope, a phase contrast microscope, and an ultrasonic impulse excitation instrument. This state-of-the-art facility is named after longtime Gordon Trustee Ken Olsen, who was one of the twentieth century’s leading computer science pioneers, and founder of Digital Equipment Corporation.
