WHAT'S NEW on iTunes U?

GORDON SPOTLIGHT: A SCHOOL OF CHRIST

From the beginning, Gordon College was considered "a school of Christ." Through its nearly 120-year history, that vision has not changed and now has been captured in a new documentary film with the same name. Produced by Gordon College and Lamp Post Media of Beverly, MA, Gordon College: A School of Christ chronicles the life of founder, Adoniram Judson Gordon and the formation of the College.

GORDON SPOTLIGHT: KEN OLSEN SCIENCE CENTER DEDICATION

Featuring: Genomics and the Human Condition by Dr. Francis Collins - audio and video available

As religion and science increasingly dominate today's headlines, many wonder how, or if, the two can co-exist. Can a person of faith be a serious scientist? Is it irrational for a biologist to believe in God, or antithetical for a committed Christian to study chemistry or physics? Gordon College has been embracing cultural issues like these for nearly sixty years. To affirm its commitment to the sciences, the College hosted renowned scientists, artists, scholars, entrepreneurs and theologians for a weeklong celebration around the Sept. 27th dedication of its new Ken Olsen Science Center.

STUDENT FILMS AND PODCASTS: MEXICO OUTREACH

GORDON PULPIT: FALL 2008 CHAPELS AND CONVOCATIONS

Audio and video podcasts of recent Chapels and Convocations are now being posted

GORDON SPOTLIGHT: RICK WARREN'S 2008 COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS

Audio and Video available

Special guest speaker Dr. Rick Warren, acclaimed author of The Purpose Driven Life, challenged graduating seniors to be responsible for the experiences they have gained in and out of the classroom. He said students should invest their lives in things that will last such as God's Word and human relationships. "It's not the duration of your life that matters, it's the donation."

Dr. Warren also encouraged graduating seniors to understand God's purpose and identity for their lives. He explained, "You are not an accident…nothing in life will make sense until you get that."  Dr. Warren added, "If your heart is beating, God has a plan for your life."

GORDON SPOTLIGHT: INTERVIEWS WITH RICK AND KAY WARREN

Featured in these two podcasts are Rick and Kay Warren, of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, where Rick is senior pastor. Rick is the well-known author of the bestselling books, the Purpose Driven Life and The Purpose Driven Church. Rick and Kay's lives took an unexpected turn in 2003 when they were invited to Rwanda by the country's president, Paul Kagame, and caught a vision for addressing the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Kay's book, Dangerous Surrender: What Happens When You Say Yes to God, tells the story of how she was transformed from living a comfortable middle-class life as a pastor's wife to becoming active in the church's global response to the HIV/AIDS crisis. They are interviewed by President and First Lady of Gordon College, Jud and Jan Carlberg.

GORDON ACADEMICS: TALK OF THE MUSE with JO KADLECEK

What inspires you? Why do we create the things we do? How exactly does the creative process affect our work?

These are the questions behind "Talk of the Muse", a regular podcast conversation between critically acclaimed journalist, author and communication arts professor Jo Kadlecek and her guests. Tune in here as Jo talks with a variety of creative types (professors, students, staff and campus guests) about how the Muse strikes them in their lives, careers and stories.

GORDON PULPIT: FAITH AND FOREIGN POLICY FORUM

Together with the Council on Faith and International Affairs (CFIA) and The New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College (NHIOP), the Center for Christian Studies at Gordon College  co-sponsored the "Faith and Foreign Policy" event held at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH, on November 10-11, 2007. Faculty from Gordon and other selected colleges spoke on the increasingly critical intersection of religion and international affairs.
