GAME OFFICIAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary: Assists in the administration of a particular Recreation-Intramural (Rec-IM) event (i.e. tournament, game, match, etc.).
- Ensures all necessary equipment is present and set up 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
- Communicate effectively with captains and other competitors during the game. Game officials must also remain in good standing with all team captains.
- Report the results of the event to the chief statistician.
- Facilitate a safe and enjoyable recreational environment for participants.
- Enforce impartially appropriate game rules and safety standards.
- Maintain good communication with Rec-IM.
Qualifications
- Honesty and integrity are required
- Excellent communication skills required
- Ability to relate effectively to students, faculty and staff is required
- Expert knowledge of the particular sport or event you are applying to officiate is required
- Reliability is required
- Prior officiating experience highly preferred
- First Aid preferred
- Attendance at all scheduled official's meetings
Time Requirement
Must be able to officiate at least 2 games per week.
Salary
$10 per game
