Christians Engaging Culture

MODELS FOR PUBLIC POLICY PRACTITIONERS, POLITICIANS AND SCHOLARS
There is considerable activity on the part of Christians to engage the broader culture. This project focuses on that engagement in the realms of:

  • Public policy practice
  • Politics
  • The Academy

First Purpose: Identify current models for such engagement in these three realms of discourse and to evaluate the effectiveness of these existing models.

Second Purpose: "Push the envelope" to refine predominate models of interaction so that they have a clear interpersonal focus. Through this focus, the Christian politician, public policy practitioner or scholar seeks to establish a personal relationship of empathy and trust with his/her intended audience. This approach lays the groundwork for greater receptivity to Christian perspectives. Three case studies where this interpersonal focus has proven effective follow:
