W.I.L.D SEMESTER: Wilderness Immersion & Leadership Development
Due to a low number of applications, the W.I.L.D. semester is suspended for the 2017-18 academic year. As a longstanding leader in this area, Gordon College recognizes the importance of outdoor education and leadership development programming and will continue to explore ways to make such programming available to students.
Develop your leadership skills through hands-on learning and practical experience.
This semester uses outdoor adventures and intentional Christian community to equip leaders to impact the world for Christ. The program runs each Fall Semester, and provides students an opportunity to develop outdoor leadership and facilitation skills necessary for a career in the outdoors, but also the Christian character and life skills which are crucial to making a difference in whatever vocation God calls you to.
This semester has been the most difficult and most positively transformative thing I have ever done. It is tough—both physically and mentally—but I feel more prepared to educate (whether that be in the outdoors or in a classroom), to travel, to take care of myself in the outdoors, to take care of myself in regular indoor life, and to interact with people well." —Richelle Joseph ’18
