Funding an Internship

Increased opportunities shouldn’t mean increased costs for students. Career Services is committed to working toward equal internship potential for all students by providing potential funding and external scholarship resources to students in need. 

Norma L. Huse Scholarship

The Norma Huse Scholarship is given annually by Career Services in honor of Norma L. Huse, one of Gordon's first supporters of the cooperative education program and one of the first employers to hire a student for an experiential learning placement. Ms. Huse was a local businesswoman who enjoyed helping young people get started in their careers. She is remembered for being hardworking, eager to help others develop professionally, dedicated to education and committed to public service.

Eligible students will be nominated by their internship advisor for their personal and professional growth through an internship or co-op, in addition to the following requirements:

  • A nominee must be returning in the fall semester
  • A nominee will have completed at least a 2-credit hour internship or a co-op in the spring, summer or fall of the academic year
  • A nominee must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and received a minimum 3.0 for the internship
  • A nominee must have received a positive evaluation from their internship or co-op supervisor
