VISION
The Gordon-IN-Boston urban semester program combines urban studies courses, professional internships and cross registration options at six partnering colleges all while studying and living together among Boston's urban poor at Gordon IN Boston's two urban ministry homes. The urban semester seeks to develop the next generation of influential urban leaders by providing instruction that balances theory and praxis. By utilizing the rich and diverse resources of the City of Boston, a multi-cultural faculty and guest lecturers who are specialists in their field, the semester gives students a well-rounded introduction to the issues and realities of urban culture. Internship opportunities enable students to gain firsthand exposure to various career interests while developing important cross-cultural skills. The semester introduces students to the lifestyle of intentional Christian community in a rich multi-ethnic neighborhood.
