Douglas H. Gilbert is a Partner at DFW Capital Partners, a private equity group based in the Mid-Atlantic with approximately $600 million of capital under management. Mr. Gilbert has been in the private equity industry for 25 years always focused on lower middle market companies. Prior to DFW Capital, he was a Managing Director with MCG Capital Corporation, Winston Partners and Thayer Capital Partners. Mr. Gilbert also worked at Boston Ventures Management and has four years of merger and acquisition experience with Lehman Brothers and The Bridgeford Group.
Mr. Gilbert received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Political Economy from Williams College. Mr. Gilbert is an elder at the Fourth Presbyterian Church where he serves as chair of the personnel committee and investment committee and continues to teach the 8th grade boys Sunday school. Previously, he was on the Board of Trustees of The Fourth Presbyterian School serving on the finance, investment and personnel committees. He has also served on the Boards of the Holy Cross Health System and Great Dads, Inc. Mr. Gilbert is a founding member of Capital For Children and serves on the board of one of its sponsor organizations, Live It, Learn It.
He lives in Potomac, Maryland, is married with four boys and enjoys golf, hockey and paddle tennis. His son, Jack, currently attends Gordon in the class of 2018.
