VISION
Gordon IN Aix is a semester-long program offered both Fall and Spring, with a year-long option for advanced students of French. The program provides an immersion experience in French language and culture in the heart of southern France, with a particular thematic focus on the challenges facing the contemporary Christian church in a largely post-Christian Europe.
Gordon IN Aix continues its longstanding collaboration with the Institut d'études de français pour étudiants étrangers (IEFEE, a sector of the University of Aix-Marseille), and enjoys close association with the prestigious Institut d'études politiques d'Aix-en-Provence ("SciencesPo") as well as with John Calvin Seminary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Gordon IN Aix welcomes applicants from any academic major who have completed at least one year of university-level French language study, especially those with interests in International Affairs and contemporary Christian mission, ministry and apologetics. Students using the program to complete requirements for the French major must demonstrate Intermediate level proficiency, and receive the recommendation from the French department faculty.

CREDITS
Semester students normally receive 16-18 credits, depending upon the courses completed.
The French department at Gordon College normally expects those French majors who study in Aix for the entire year to take the diploma course offered by the Institut d'Etudes Francaises.
Global Understanding core credit can be fulfilled by a semester or year at Gordon IN Aix when students participate in the pre- and post-departure New Perspectives course. Lab fees apply as of Fall 2013. See the GEO for details.
DEADLINES
Fall Semester: Gordon students must submit their online seat applications for Gordon IN Aix by March 15. All other supporting materials are due by March 30.
Non-Gordon applicants must submit their online application and all supporting materials by March 30.
Spring Semester: Gordon students must submit their online seat applications for Gordon IN Aix by September 30. All other supporting materials due by October 15. Non-Gordon applicants must submit their online application and all supporting materials by October 15.
