Work Study and Employment Opportunities
Federal Work Study (FWS) may be included as part of the financial aid award. The student employment office oversees job listings for all jobs and is available to assist students regarding work opportunities.
In 2008 students earned just under $1 million through this program. The average FWS award for financial aid is $1,700, although this is not a limit as students may earn more than this amount. Any money earned under the FWS program will be deducted from the student's earnings when calculating the financial aid award the following academic year. FWS is not deducted from a student's bill, student's receive regular paychecks for work performed and have discretion over how the money is spent. Students without FWS may also apply for jobs on and off-campus.
