Because our faith is deeply rooted in relationship with God, with others, and with the creation, we believe that our learning should also be rooted in these relationships. Out of this commitment, students are encouraged to engage in various sorts of ministry, service, and outreach that is both an expression of their Christian faith, but also a vital means by which they can deepen their classroom learning and further their vocational discernment. Furthermore, we believe all ministry, service, and outreach must be within the context of mutually beneficial relationships where the line between giver and receiver is blurred and both are seen as co-learners and co-creators.
The majority of our local outreach is centered around student-led volunteer ministries and service teams (Outreach Teams) and Gordon in Lynn, which coordinates the first year service-learning experience through The Great Conversation, the College Bound America Reads program, and the Gordon in Lynn Internship.
