The Academic Support Center (ASC) at Gordon College exists to encourage and equip students to achieve their God-given potential for academic success, acknowledging that Gordon's community of learners is made richer through the contributions of all students. Students are encouraged to develop self-awareness as learners and to investigate new strategies and techniques for effective academic performance. In addition to providing one-on-one help for general academics, the ASC is the designated Disability Office on campus.

The eighth annual ASC Bookmark Award was presented to Dr. Kaye Cook at the ASC Appreciation Brunch. Each year the ASC chooses a professor who, based on staff observation and student feedback, embodies and supports the ASC mission, demonstrates excellence in their discipline, is able to support and encourage a diversity of learners.
The bookmarks are then given as an appreciation gift to tutors and others who have worked with the ASC during the current academic year, and are also displayed in the ASC. Dr. Cook joins a group of esteemed colleagues reaching back to 2006; past recipients include Marv Wilson, Dorothy Boorse, Peter Stine, Peggy Hothem, Ted Hildebrandt, Lori Ambacher, and Graeme Bird.
