Lisa Forkner, a native of Boston’s South Shore, lives in Hingham, Massachusetts. She graduated from Wheaton College (Illinois) in 1991 with a B.A. in art history and philosophy and went on to earn a B.A. in interior design from Chicago’s Harrington Institute. She married her husband, Kent, a native of Fargo, North Dakota, in 1993. Since returning to the Boston area in 1994, Lisa’s full-time job has been raising her three children, who now range from middle school up through college.
Committed to the local church and to building community, Kent and Lisa are members of South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, Massachusetts, where they have helped to lead the marriage ministry and where Lisa has served by organizing women’s events and writing curriculum for women’s small-group retreats. She is interested in spiritual formation and participates in a spiritual leadership community, training in spiritual disciplines and contemplative prayer.
Lisa has served on the Wheaton College Alumni Board and the South Shore Christian Academy Board, and currently serves on the Board of Christian Camps and Conferences Inc. She has a passion for Christian camping and education; enjoys fine cooking, gardening, reading and sailing; loves spending time with her husband and children; relishes a good laugh; and can occasionally be found on the golf course.
