Attendants will direct parking for Baccalaureate and Commencement.
Parking for RVs or other vehicles too large to fit into one standard parking space must be arranged at least two weeks before Commencement; contact Glenn Deckert at firstname.lastname@example.org
If weather conditions lead to an indoor Commencement in the Bennett Center, drivers will be able to drop off passengers in a designated area in the Ferrin parking lot across the street from the Bennett Center. Drop-off directly in front of the Bennett Center or along Grapevine Road is prohibited. A shuttle from the Woodland Parking Lot will transport passengers to the front door of the Bennett Center.
See the Commencement Map for details.
New this year is a shuttle service from The Academy at Penguin Hall (which is right down the road, off of Route 22) to the AJ Chapel Loop on campus! Shuttles will start running at 7:30 a.m. from The Academy at Penguin Hall to the A.J. Chapel Loop, and the last shuttle from campus will leave at 2:00 p.m. This service is essentially "door-to-door" so it might be a nice option to consider rather than having to walk from the Woodland Parking Lot. The address of the Academy at Penguin Hall is 36 Essex Street, Wenham, MA.
If you are traveling NORTH on Route 128, take Exit 18 and take a left and stay on Essex Street until you get into Wenham. Just after you enter the Town of Wenham on Essex Street, you will see signs for The Academy at Penguin Hall on the left. Getting off at Exit 18 will also help you avoid a lot of traffic near Exit 17.
To reach The Academy at Penguin Hall from Gordon College, go down Grapevine Road (away from Route 128) and take a LEFT on Essex Street (also known as Route 22 South) and then look for The Academy at Penguin Hall on the right. The Gordon Police will have signs and parking attendants.
For GPS, note that there is a 36 Essex Street in Beverly as well as in Wenham, so please be sure to set the address in your GPS for 36 Essex Street in Wenham.
See Shuttle Service map for details.
Parking spaces for vehicles with state-issued handicap plates or placards will be reserved in the Gordon Chapel parking lot for Baccalaureate and outdoor Commencement, or at the Bennett Center for an indoor Commencement. Others who wish to use these special needs parking areas should inquire with Glenn Deckert at email@example.com at least two weeks before Commencement.
The Baccalaureate and Commencement locations are handicap accessible. Hearing assistance packs and a special seating area for ASL interpretation will be available at both events. Wheelchairs are available. Please notify Allison Duback at Allison.Duback@Gordon.edu of these needs prior to Commencement.
Ushers will assist guests who require special seating. Guests with special needs should arrive at least 45 minutes early.
