38 MAJORS 42 CONCENTRATIONS
15 INTERDISCIPLINARY & PREPROFESSIONAL MINORS
Gordon College has maintained a firm commitment to a liberal arts education, and its rightful place as the gold standard around the world, as well as the essence of an experience that is academically rigorous and intensely personal. In the New England tradition, we are what Harvard used to be—a place where faith and learning are integrated, and integral. We stretch the mind, deepen the faith and elevate the contribution to the world around us. Gordon’s honors and leadership programs emphasize service and personal excellence.
Kenneth L. Pike Honors Program
The Pike Honors program is an opportunity for exceptional students to design individualized majors or to meet unique academic goals beyond existing Gordon programs.
Jerusalem and Athens Forum
The Jerusalem and Athens Forum is a one-year great books honors program in the history of Christian thought and literature.
The Elijah Project is a 12-month program in which a small group of students explores the broad questions of vocation and calling from biblical, theological, historic and philosophical perspectives.
Gordon Presidential Fellows
Modeled on the highly competitive, highly effective White House Fellowship, the Presidential Fellows Program affords Gordon students the chance to work directly with one of the College’s Cabinet officers (known as the Fellow’s "Principal"), who mentors the student through a yearlong fellowship.
These allow students to extend their learning in a way that fits their specific interests. Options range from independent or joint research projects, to practical applications within these areas of study.
According to the 2012 Open Doors report, about 14 percent of American students receiving Bachelor’s degrees this past year have studied abroad at some point during their undergraduate programs. In contrast, more than 40 percent of Gordon’s graduates receive academic credit through literally dozens of off campus study options around the globe; including options for short-term, semester or year-long experiences.
The many centers and institutes that are housed at Gordon show the dynamic nature of our academic programs and their emphasis on global responsibility and action.
