WORLD FOCUS

The mission of World Focus is to give Gordon students the opportunity to increase their Christian worldview by learning about ministry through the eyes of local church leaders in Latin America. Our hope is for participants to come to a new understanding of mission. Mission is not about what we do to serve God. "The church of God doesn’t have a mission in the world. The God of mission has a church in the world” (Tim Dearborn). There is only one mission—and it is God’s.

Our trip will be spent serving under the direction of local existing ministries in Latin America. We work with church planting ministries, Compassion International schools and/or orphanages. Our primary focus is to build relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ, while supporting what God has called them to do by helping with a construction project and working with the children of the host community.

Applications are due September 21, 2012. The dates of the trip are December 31–January 12.
