Health Professions Acceptance History

As of Fall 2011, Gordon had sent 139 graduates to medical school since the first in 1977. 

  • The 139 includes 25 students who attended osteopathic schools 
  • Three entered combined M.D./Ph.D. programs
  • Eight graduates have attended dental school
    • a 2009 graduate is attending Harvard School of Dental Medicine
  • One student attended veterinary school (2005)

Consider these recent statistics for all 36 students who applied to medical school during the years 2001 to 2012. At Gordon we do not pre-qualify applicants, and some apply with for example low GPA's or MCAT scores. Some do get in.  Considering the total pool of 63 applicants over these years as a whole, 49 out of 63 (77%) were accepted to medical school. 

Considering the more highly qualified group based on GPA, MCAT score or both, the numbers are very promising.

  • for those with GPA 3.5 and above, the acceptance rate was 86% (31/36)
  • for those with MCAT 28 and above, acceptance rate was was 92% (35/38)
  • for the students with both GPA 3.5+ and MCAT score 28 or higher, the rate is 94% (29/31)
