Other Health Professions
In addition to the categories of Nursing, Physician's Assistant, Veterinary, Dental and Physician, there are many other possible ares under the umbrella of health professions. The Health Professions seminar is a good way to learn about some of these lesser-known disciplines; sometimes students discover these and end up following a career path that they did not initially consider.
Here are some of the other careers in health professions that might be less well known:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Optometry
- Audiology
- Nurse Anesthetist
- Pharmacy
- Psychology
- Public Health
For such careers, a basic science education would be most valued, such as is found in the Biology or Chemistry major. For physical therapy, Kinesiology would be the most appropriate choice of major.
