Mr. Harold L. Myra

Harold Myra was born in New Jersey and raised in Pennsylvania, where he first became involved with Youth for Christ. While in college he directed high school clubs for YFC, later joining its headquarters in Wheaton, Illinois, and eventually becoming vice president of the literature division.

In June 1975 Harold was appointed CEO of Christianity Today International. Building on the foundation of Christianity Today magazine, his administration developed 10 additional publications and a burgeoning Internet ministry. He retired in 2007. Mr. Myra has written extensively and is currently writing a book on the leadership of Billy Graham, founder and longtime chairman of CTI.

In 1992 Gordon bestowed an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters on Harold. Recent awards include the Joseph T. Bayly Award for Outstanding Service in Christian Periodical Publishing (2000, from the Evangelical Press Association); the Mark O. Hatfield Leadership Award (2003, from the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities).

Harold and his wife, Jeanette, have six children; two of them, Michelle and Gregory, are graduates of Gordon.
