Dr. Judith M. Dean

Judy Dean is Professor of Economics at Brandeis University. She graduated from Gordon College with a B.A. in economics and went on to Cornell University to earn an M.A. and a Ph.D. in economics.

Judy’s teaching and research focus on the impact of trade policies on developing countries. Prior to joining Brandeis, she was Assistant Professor at Bowdoin College and Associate Professor at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. In 2000 she joined the Office of Economics, Research Division, of the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC), where she served as a senior international economist, until her appointment to Brandeis. Judy has consulted for the World Bank and the OECS and has been a visiting scholar at the Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi, India.

Judy is currently a member of the Advisory Board for IVCF Faculty Ministries, an active member and past president of the Association of Christian Economists, and a member of the Board of World Relief. She attends Park Street Church in Boston.
