The Gordon in Lynn Internship program is an intensive leadership development opportunity for those students wishing to dig deeper into urban engagement and community development. Through an application process, we select between twelve and fourteen students to serve as interns. Each intern is placed at a community partner where she or he acts as a liaison between the organization and Gordon College, coordinating a SALteam—Serve and Learn Team—of approximately eight to twelve students from a Great Conversation Service-Learning section. In addition, interns gather for weekly teaching, training, mentoring, and fellowship. We require students to commit for a full year and a stipend is paid throughout the semester.
