International Student Services

International students are a valuable and integral part of the Gordon College community. However, there are certain needs unique to the international community. Directed by the International Student Advisor, Gordon provides services to help international students adjust to a new culture and to Gordon College, while also providing them with the necessary resources needed to live as a non-immigrant F- l international student. The following is a list of support services available to international students.

Visa and Immigration Information Services
It is the responsibility of all international students to maintain their immigration status. The International Student Advisor will provide information on how to maintain immigration status. (see Admissions for more information about initial student visa applications)

International Orientation
This specialized orientation is required for all international visa students. It is held just prior to the new student orientation.

Advising and Counseling
Immigration counseling, processing cross-cultural and international issues, personal dilemmas, and academic advising is offered by the international student advisor. This is an incredible resource to gain advise, support, and to have personal contact with an experienced staff mentor.

International Student Programming
The purpose of our programming is to provide opportunities forinternational students to experience American culture. For example, we have gone ice skating, taken trips to Boston, gone to the beach, and enjoy international dinners. Students find fellowship and friendships with people from around the world.

Career and employment workshops
International students are welcome to access the career resource center. Career workshops are provided each semester that are especially tailored for international students. Learn how to write a resume, practice interviewing, and gain understanding of American business and employment cultures. You will also learn about legal responsibilities for working in the United States. Tax workshops
All international students are required to file US taxes. Spring workshops are offered to aid in this process.

International Chapel
Each year the International Student Organization (ISO) conducts a worship service. It often features music and language from the participants native cultures. Many students find that this special chapel is one of their favorites for the year!
