Gordon College is committed to ethnic and cultural diversity. There are many different opportunities to share your home with the community here. Many international students bring items and clothing from home for cultural events.
International Student Organization (ISO)
International (from 18 nations, currently) and non-international students gather several times a semester for large group activities. We have several opportunities for fellowship, cultural events, activities and worship. A group of international student leaders are responsible for planning these activities and providing support to new and continuing international students. The ISO leaders meet consistently with the international student advisor to discuss current issues facing internationals. The ISO promotes global awareness on campus and communicates international student concerns to the administration.
Missionary Kid/Third Culture Kids
A group made up of students who have lived overseas in one or more cultures. MK/TCK'ers get together for times of fun and discussions about living abroad and adjusting back to the US. All MKs/TCKs are invited to join the international orientation and other international student events, as well as participate in an annual retreat. Gordon College is a member of Mu Kappa -an organization designed to meet the needs of MKs/TCKs.
ALANA (Asian, Latino, African, and Native Americans)
ALANA supports students of color on campus. They provide services for students and sponsor events for the community. This year ALANA hosted a film festival series with films from African, Asian, and Latino traditions. ALANA promotes diversity awareness on campus and communicates their concerns to the administration.
Advocates for Cultural Diversity (ACD)
ACD is a part of student government. It is a group committed to multiculturalism and diversity on campus.
