Valerie Gin

Professor of Kinesiology
Chair, Department of Recreation, Sport and Wellness

After coaching collegiate volleyball and softball for 13 years, Dr. Gin continues her love of and interest in sport through researching and writing about sport ethics. She enjoys researching with students and creating engaging interactive class projects. Dr. Gin is a two-time recipient of the Gordon College Distinguished Faculty Award.

Scott Barnett

W.I.L.D. Semester Director

Scott has been hiking and camping all his life. He grew up roaming the bush as a missionary kid in Kenya, hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim with his family, climbing 14'ers in Colorado, and at camp at Deerfoot Lodge in the Adirondacks. At Wheaton, Scott was a Christian Education major focusing on residential camp as well as wilderness ministry. Nathan Hausman

Director, La Vida Adirondack Expeditions
W.I.L.D. Semester Instructor

Nate has over a dozen years of full-time experience in the wilderness education field and has been involved with the Gordon College La Vida program since 1997. As Director of La Vida’s Adirondack program, Nate spends his summers in upstate New York at La Vida’s 75-acre base camp property outside of Lake Placid.
