Orientation Student Leadership

Remember your own "Welcome to College!" moment?
Nothing makes arriving at a new experience easier than being welcomed warmly and given the chance to get your bearings. This is what Orientation staff do at Gordon for newly arriving students and for their families. For traditional first-time, first-year students making the jump from high school to higher learning, and for the seasoned transfer student coming to a new campus, and for the many international students arriving from points across the globe, we hope Gordon Orientation gives every student the best start possible in making Gordon their college home.

Join Gordon's Orientation Staff!

Student Orientation staff welcome new students twice a year—in late Summer and again in January—and we always need many O-Staffers to do the welcoming! This is an excellent "learning while leading" experience, while you aid other students in finding their way through their First Year at Gordon.

Orientation Core Staff (Student positions)
Six to eight seasoned Gordon students, with either Orientation experience or similar leadership experiences, make up the Orientation Core Staff who assists in planning, organizing and delivering the August Orientation program, and the January Orientation program. Core staffers are selected in February and participate in a basic training series for their role. They also select, and assist in the training and development of the O-Staff (Orientation volunteer staff) through the Spring semester and over the summer. Seasoned Core Staffers returning to the role are designated Senior Core Staffers, with added leadership responsibilities in the program.
