Joshua Nannestad became conductor of the Gordon College Choir in 2013. A doctoral conducting student of Ann Howard Jones at Boston University, he has led the choral music program at Milford High School for over a decade while also teaching music to kindergartners and first graders. The son of a church musician, he continues in the family business, sharing the music ministry duties at First Parish of Westwood, Massachuestts, with his wife Joanna.
Mr. Nannestad was profoundly influenced by his teachers at Saint Olaf College (Bachelor of Music Education) and Gordon College (Master of Music Education). He is currently the High School Repertoire and Standards Chair for the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, and at this very moment he should be working on his dissertation on Benjamin Britten’s opera Noye’s Fludde.
