Bachelor of Music in Performance (BM)
Prepares you for professional pursuits in music. The program emphasizes performance skills to train you for a career in performance, studio teaching or graduate study. In addition to the core curriculum and music survey classes, you will take courses focused on improving your interpretation and technique on your major instrument. You will also be required to prepare and perform a faculty judged solo recital in your junior and senior years.
Bachelor of Music in Music Education (BM)
Prepares you for positions as a teacher and/or supervisor of choral, instrumental or general music in public or private schools. Music education graduates are eligible for licensure in 48 states through the NASDTEC Interstate Contract. You may choose to seek licensure at either the elementary or secondary level or choose to pursue double licensure.
To enrich your study, you will spend your final semester in a 14-week practicum monitored by the faculty in cooperation with a local school. You will be required to prepare & perform a faculty judged solo recital in your senior year.
Bachelor of Arts in Music (BA)
Allows you to major in music while giving you freedom to create your own balance between music and the liberal arts. You can easily double major or minor in another academic program such as business, communications, elementary education, movement science, foreign language, and biblical studies.
Minor in Music
A 20-credit program that features basic coursework in music as well as study on an applied instrument. An audition is required for all prospective music minors.
