May–Summer Term 2012 offers more choices for what students said they needed. Why not:

  • Complete a core course?
  • Earn your degree sooner?
  • Pursue an interest?
  • Try something new?

What you need to know:

  • Registration for May–Summer Term courses is open and will remain so until early May 2012. Register as soon as you decide to take a course.

  • Tuition is $400 per credit hour ($1,600 for a 4 credit course), a reduced rate since financial aid is NOT available. Tuition for courses taken for enrichment only (audited without credit) is $500.  There are fees associated with lab and field science or studio art courses.

  • Most courses are configured to require your full-time attention. It is recommended that most students should take only one course. Consult with your advisor before registering for more than one class.

  • Most classes will start immediately after graduation on Monday May 21 and will generally be finished in mid-June, so you still have time to work that great summer job.

  • You will be able to register for courses until late April. At that time we will let you know if there are courses that will not run due to low enrollment, so you may adjust your plans accordingly. The minimum enrollment required for a class to be held is normally five to eight students. Courses that have reached minimum enrollemnt will remain open for registration until early May.

  • Online courses require high speed internet connection and a computer with capacity to efficiently download and run programs used in the course. Further information is availbale in the informational brochure—see link below.  Also note that students registered for online courses must participate in an online course orientation in late April or early May, when invited to do so.

  • Housing will be available per calendar week for double occupancy lodging and seven dinner meals at the rate of $100. During the first week of the summer, students also pay a $5 activity fee that is used to cover costs of special programming. Pick up applications (for housing only) in Auxiliary Services office in the Lane Student Center.
