Heart of Discovery: Math & Computer Science Alumni Dinner
Took Place: Thursday, April 12, 2007
Presidents Dining Room, Lane Student Center
On a rainy evening in mid-April, alumni from the math and computer science department gathered in the Presidents Dining Room for a lovely dinner and joyful reunion with friends, colleagues and co-workers.
During the evening, two alumni shared the specific ways in which their Gordon education prepared them for life after college. Lesley Anderson '01 spoke about the need for "technical people" to step out and engage with people who are less savvy about technology. Michael Yee '00 communicated his great appreciation for math and its beauty and excellence, and how this is a reflection of God's character.
At the close of the evening, each alumnus/a shared where he or she is living and working, and many memorable stories were shared. All Gordon science majors are aware of the great need for new science facilities and math and computer science graduates share a collective excitement about the Ken Olsen Science Center. Many alumni are considering how they can bless future generations of Gordon math and computer science majors by contributing to the Heart of Discovery campaign.
