You can use library electronic resources from any computer on or off campus. See a complete listing of electronic resources by name, provider, or subject. Databases covering education are listed below.

      • Academic OneFile (Gale) - scholarly database containing journals, podcasts, and transcripts
      • Academic Search Complete (EBSCO) - comprehensive database of scholarly journals
      • JSTOR - a collection of core scholarly journals, many going back to the first volume. Emphasis is on back issue coverage and does not include the current 3-5 years, unless Gordon has a current subscription to the journal. JSTOR provides long term preservation for journals.
      • Oxford Reference Online - Find facts, figures, definitions, quotations, translations, and illustrations from over 175 Oxford reference titles.
        Please log out when you are finished searching. Our subscription allows one user at a time.
      • PsycINFO (EBSCO) - index for psychology journals, books, etc. with links to many full text articles
      • Religious and Theological Abstracts - indexes religion and theology
      • Sage Journals Online - a searchable collection of scholarly online journals published by Sage, covering many subject areas including education

    • Children's eBooks & Audiobooks from OverDrive - downloadable children's audiobooks and eBooks including fiction, non-fiction, comic and graphic books, and more.   
    • International Children's Digital Library (ICDL) - free digital library of children's books from around the world in 54 languages
    • Junior Edition - K12 (Gale) - for students in junior high and middle school, indexed and full-text magazines, newspapers and reference books
    • Kids InfoBits (Gale) - for beginning researchers in Kindergarten through Grade 5
    • Kids Search (EBSCO) - Encyclopedia, dictionary and magazines and for middle school research
    • Middle Search Plus (EBSCO) - magazines for middle and junior high school research
    • Primary Search (EBSCO) - popular, magazines for elementary school research
    • Searchasaurus (EBSCO) - Encyclopedia, dictionary and magazines for elementary school research
    • Student Edition (Gale) - for high-school students with access to a variety of indexed and full-text magazines, newspapers and reference books
    • Student Resources In Context (Gale) - reference material, periodical and newspaper articles, and primary sources covering all core secondary school curriculum areas, including history, literature, science, social studies, and more.

More electronic resources are available through Boston Public Library. However, you must first take a minute to sign up for a BPL eCard.

JOURNALS

  • Gordon's Periodical List is a complete list of all journals available through Jenks Library (full text in databases, online, and print).
    • You can search for a journal title in Periodical List.
    • You can also see subjects under the broad category of education in Periodical List. Click on a subject to view the journals available.
  • Print journals are located in the periodicals area on the 4th floor of Jenks. Please note that journals are arranged alphabetically by title, not by subject area.
