About:

Julia D’Onofrio holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology and early childhood education laying the foundation for her career as a kindergarten teacher. She later pursued and earned a master's degree in reading intervention. Julia assumed the role of Director of Student Services in a private K-8 school, initiating services for students with learning disabilities and providing professional development support for teachers. Licensed in Massachusetts, Julia is equipped to teach early childhood PreK-2 with and without disabilities, English language learners K-6, and specializes in reading intervention K-12. Julia currently teaches at Gordon College contributing to the teacher preparation program. In this role, Julia instructs aspiring teachers in the science of reading courses fostering a comprehensive knowledge of foundational principles. Julia is enrolled in a doctoral program focused on reading science. She lives in Beverly, MA with her husband Nicolas, and their four children where they have been deeply involved in the community through being a foster family. Julia is passionate about the power evidence-based practices have on teacher effectiveness and reading outcomes for all students.
