PHI291: CHRISTIANITY, HUMANISM, AND THE SCIENCES IN THE ITALIAN RENAISSANCE
From June 28-July 10 Professor Brian Glenney will lead a course exploring the dynamic and historic intersection between faith, humanism and science during the Italian Renaissance. Over the course of two weeks students earn 4 credits. The course will entail visiting sites like the Villa of Lorenzo Medici where the Christian Platonists met, examining the humanism undergirding Renaissance architecture, and studying the philosophy behind Renaissance art.
Locations
Orvieto-Students will live in the Monastery of San Paolo, the home of Gordon's semester-long program
