History Alive! proudly announces auditions for its 21st summer season of Cry Innocent: The People vs. Bridget Bishop by Mark Stevick.
WHEN: March 17th, 2013 2–4 p.m. Callbacks will be scheduled as necessary.
WHERE: The Old Town Hall, 32 Derby Square, Salem, MA 01970.
ABOUT: Set in Salem, 1692, Cry Innocent is a highly interactive theatrical recreation of the pre-trial examination of accused witch Bridget Bishop. The audience, serving as the jury, are given opportunities to question the witnesses and examine the evidence while the actors respond in character. Involving actor doubling and a rotating cast, no two shows are exactly the same!
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Solid, personable actors of both genders (aged 18+) who are willing to take risks, play well with others, and don’t mind sweat, rain, cold or crowds.
HOW TO PREPARE: Please come ready with a brief, non-contemporary monologue of your choosing, and wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving about in. You may be asked to do some cold readings from the script and participate in improvisational activities. There is a strong chance that you will have fun.
WHAT TO BRING: Photograph of yourself, a resume, and a list of any and all potential conflicts betwixt May 16th and August 18th.
TRAINING, PAY, SCHEDULING: Positions are paid hourly. Rehearsals, beginning late May, will be paid with a small stipend. Performances run during the day, Fridays through Tuesdays for most of the summer. There is some flexibility in scheduling. (Multiple players are cast for each role.)
