History Alive! actors perform the historical testimonies spoken by Bridget Bishop and her neighbors over 300 years ago. Each audience serves as a Puritan grand jury and votes to determine the outcome of her examination. The actors respond in character to all comments and questions, revealing much about the Puritan mind. NOTE: Reservations are taken for groups exceeding 15 people. Groups smaller than 15 must purchase tickets at the box cart—available 30 minutes before showtime. Tickets will not be sold in advance.

A must see for everyone, Cry Innocent is the longest continuously-running show north of Boston. Featured on Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, A&E, Nickelodeon, TLC, NPR, BBC, CNN and MTV. Cry Innocent: the People versus Bridget Bishop was commissioned by Norman Jones, professor of theatre and was written by Mark Stevick, professor of English. The 2006 production is under the direction of Dawn Sarrouf.
Cry Innocent is performed at Salem's Old Town Hall, 32 Derby Square. We are accessible from the Essex Pedestrian Walkway and from Front Street.
