The Gordon College Fund

The Gordon College Fund (TGCF) provides the backbone of our operating budget through unrestricted giving, primarily from alumni. Trustees, faculty and staff, parents of current and former students and friends of Gordon also give faithfully and generously to the fund. Annual gifts provide the necessary financial resources to maintain basic staples of the College's programs such as faculty salaries, building maintenance and computer and library acquisitions. TGCF also allows flexibility to respond to new opportunities as they arise, such as a scholarship for a particularly promising student.

Without the backbone it provides to the budget, Gordon would quickly price itself out of affordability with the tuition increases that would be needed to cover expenses. Tuition covers approximately 85% of the true cost of a Gordon education.

Alumni who make gifts to the Gordon College Fund are included in our alumni participation percentage; critical for when we apply for foundation and corporation grants. Such organizations appreciate the assurance that colleges they choose to support are significantly supported by their alumni. Our alumni participation goal has hovered in the 35%-38% range and our goal is to exceed 40% during the next academic year.
