Kathmandu, Nepal
CloudFactory, a portfolio company of Sovereign’s Capital, is founded by Mark Sears, and is doing something constructive to change the world. CloudFactory started out as a software outsourcing project in Nepal four years ago, and now they are focused on scalable data entry work that provides training and developing basic computer workers in Nepal and other developing countries. Mark and his 70-employee team have been training and developing hundreds of college graduates in Nepal to work on data-entry projects from major clients who need high quality work at reasonable costs. The firm has since grown to employ hundreds of workers and is poised to engage several thousand workers in the foreseeable future.
Founded on Christian values, CloudFactory seeks not only to achieve financial success as a company, but also to be a catalyst for positive social change in the communities within which it works by challenging its workers to participate in community service projects on a regular basis. Their mission is to raise leaders and address poverty in countries where opportunities are scarce and massive talents are left untapped. The scope includes bringing employment opportunities to one million people in impoverished countries in the next six years. Because of CloudFactory’s rapid growth, interns must be hard-working, self-starters ready to tackle challenging projects in a flexible work environment. Coaches/mentors will provide guidance and directions to the interns who will be encouraged to develop solutions to issues/problems they encounter in their assignments. These opportunities are open to students of all majors who enjoy cross-cultural experiences and are mature and flexible enough to thrive in a high-growth, start-up business.
Hong Kong
The Hong Kong American Center arranges student internships at firms and NGO’s in Hong Kong. Students will be placed in internships based on their academic background, personal interest, skills and professional experience. Students shall learn new cultural and business etiquette, depending on the work environment they are in, and ultimately be ready to embrace a less structured, but very rewarding internship experience in the fast-paced city of Hong Kong.
Lake Forest, CA
Saddleback Church is one of the most exciting and dynamic churches in the nation. It is excited to partner with Gordon to recruit summer interns for their Discover program. In addition to church ministries, areas of internships include accounting, editorial/journalism, graphic design, IT, missions, radio, small group ministries, social media, web design and others. Saddleback is keen to recruit students with a passion for service. Interns will take part in weekly training meetings conducted by leaders of the Church. Interns are required to have their own means of transportation from the Ranch (residence) to the Church campus.
New Zealand
This is an internship opportunity for up to six students who will work as a team, ideally including students from education, recreation, biology, business, and Christian Ministries for up to two months. The interns will work in the Tauranga, NZ region in the Bay of Plenty with Kuaka New Zealand, an educational and environmental organization.
Opportunities include projects related to conservation and educational activities related to Sanctuary Park, associated with LifeZone Church, work with school groups, and a variety of other project depending on the students’ majors and interests.
Burke, VA
The Clapham Group provides project management, general consulting, strategic planning, campaign development, marketing and public relations/communications services. Interns would provide assistance to the principals on their various projects as needed.
Washington, D.C.
Wedgwood Circle exists to promote the creation of cultural artifacts that are good, true and beautiful for the common good in the art and entertainment space. It is a 501c(3) organization promoting "good culture" through organizing events and cultural investments. Interns will provide assistance to the principals of this consulting firm on their projects as needed.
Brazil
EMC Brazil has set up several internship opportunities for Gordon students. Interns will participate in a major research project for a venerable American company on data storage and analysis. Students with analytical minds and good communication skills from all majors are welcome More information will be available.
London
Originally started as a prison ministry in London, the Alpha Course that helps believers, non-believers or those just curious to “explore the meaning of life” is now run in 169 countries. Alpha International will provide interns from Gordon exciting opportunities in London in the areas of business, christian ministries, communications and media. Spending a summer working in London, the number one world city, will be an invaluable experience for the interns.
Beijing
New Day Creations offers students the opportunity to serve alongside the Chinese community, New Day Creation staff, and volunteers from around the world in service and learning experiences in the context of New Day’s arts and crafts company, foster home and learning center. This non-profit offers a diverse range of internship opportunities which include a significant mentoring/education component. Each intern will be matched with a mentor from New Day Creations’ staff, take daily classes in Chinese culture, as well as Mandarin lessons, and be given many opportunities to sight see in the area, including in the city of Beijing.
Shanghai
Blue Bridge International will place Gordon applicants with the company. Wison has over 3,000 employees worldwide and is focused on the development of energy resources (providing engineering, project management and fabrication services) and development of clean energy products. Wison’s internships are open to students of all majors except humanities and music.
Beverly or Danvers, MA
Northeast Hospital Corporation is a recognized leader in healthcare for North of Boston residents. Internship sites include Beverly Hospital and Beverly Hospital at Danvers and associated medical offices. Internships will be in the areas of business, operations and healthcare and medical office administration and support. Student interests may include communications, administration, business operations, customer service and healthcare systems and research.
Raleigh/Durham, NC
Sovereign's Capital is a private equity firm focused on investing in Christian-led businesses that will have long-term growth prospect. Interns will work on investment research and analysis and marketing and communications.
