WHERE IS THE LAB?
BCA 228 is located in Barrington Center for the Arts, 2nd floor, at the top of the stairs.
WHO USES THE LAB?
- The BCA lab is NOT a public lab.
- It is stricly for use by Design and Production Courses, and other Fine Arts students who pay a lab fee.
- Academic projects always take precedence over other projects.
- The lab can NOT be used for personal profit. Examples include:
- getting paid to film and edit a friend's wedding video
- creating and getting paid for a brochure for a friend's business
- creating and getting paid for web design and creation
WHAT WILL I FIND THERE?The lab has 13 iMacs, 17" screens.
Software:Mac OS X
Adobe CS3
Final Cut Express HD
Final Cut Pro (on five computers)
Final Draft (on ten computers)
Hardware:Two Epson Perfection Scanners (for documents, negatives, and slides)
CD/DVD Burners are installed on each computer
One color printer
Four external hard drives for saving projects (must remain in the lab)
For Video Editing:Final Cut Express HD on all computers
Final Cut Pro on five computers
TV/VCR units at 12 stations
Three image converters, to be used when capturing video from a VHS tape
Power strips at each station for additional hardware (cameras, hard drives, etc.)
Headphones
CD/DVD burners are installed on each computer
Four external hard drives for saving projects (must remain in the lab)
Sound Rooom:This room contains an iMac with OS X.
There is a mixer, speakers, and microphones for various audio projects.
However, CET has a better sound room in Jenks if you require more sophisticated technology and space.
Media Production Equipment:Six GL-1 Canon camera kits
Three GL-2 Canon camera kits
One Panasonic HD camera kit
Ten tripods for cameras
Seven various audio kits
Six Various Light Kits
Various equipment for The Tartan, student newspaper.
