In the fall of 1999 Rhodes Gymnasium became the Barrington Center for the Arts, one of the most modern centers for the performing and visual arts north of Boston. The building was named in honor of Barrington College of Rhode Island, which merged with Gordon in 1985.
ART STUDIOS AND EQUIPMENT
THE CINEMA ROOM
This room is used regularly for many purposes on campus - from class lectures and presentations to student film viewings. It has auditorium seating for 80 people, a DVD/VCR projector, a touchpanel remote for lights/video/sound, a digital Document Camera, a dual slide projector and Podium & Wall Jacks to hook up your lap top.
THE COMPUTER LAB
This Macintosh lab is used primarily for Graphic Design and Media Production students. It is also available for various Art, Communication and Theatre Arts courses/projects. For a list of available hardware, software and media equipment, go to the Barrington Computer Lab page.
THE GALLERY
The Gallery at Barrington Center for the Arts is a modern and spacious art gallery. It is open for public viewing Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. All exhibitions are open to the public and admission is free. Please check the Gallery page for exhibition dates and details.
THE THEATRE
Three Theatre productions occur every academic year in the Margaret Jensen Theatre. Senior directed one-acts are also performed in this space. All performances are open to the public. Please check the Theatre Schedule for event and ticket information.

CIVA: CHRISTIANS IN THE VISUAL ARTS
In 2002, Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA) accepted Gordon College's invitation to make its permanent home at the College. Housed in the Barrington Center for the Arts, CIVA and the College have formed a vital and continuing partnership, with a number of the faculty actively involved and each graduating art major receiving a complimentary one-year membership with the organization.
